Out With the Old, In With the New

In the Law of Attraction, it’s not enough to ask for what you want, you also have to show that you have the space, both physically and emotionally, to receive it. In simple terms? How can you expect someone new to enter your life if you’re still surrounded by the Ghosts of Relationships Past?

The first step is to go through all your things and set aside anything associated with your exes. This could be anything from old love letters and photos to gifts and even mementos from trips you took together. 

Once you have your pile, place the items in a box and tape it shut. You can store it in a place where you won’t come across it on a day-to-day basis, like the attic, the basement, or right at the back of a closet. For a more drastic solution, and if you want to release any negative emotions you have about these past relationships, you can even dispose of the box altogether. 

Whatever you decide to do, setting these items aside sends a clear message that you’re ready for a new romance and that you already have the space free to fill with new love letters!

Pretty as a Painting

Take a look at the paintings, photos, and artwork you have hanging up in your home right now. Are you surrounded by dull, muted colors and plain, twee, even “saintly” images? If so, it’s time to give your décor a much-needed pinch of passion!

First of all, take down anything that features people by themselves and replace them with images of couples embracing each other, dancing, or kissing. This isn’t the time for pictures of a sweet old couple walking hand-in-hand on the beach though – you want to surround yourself with images of red-hot desire!

Secondly, take down any images that feature water. This can mean pictures of rivers, lakes, waterfalls, or beaches. In Feng Shui, water can represent peace and tranquility, but it can also dampen passion. Replace them with ones that feature fire elements, such as a couple sitting in front of a roaring fire, or watching colorful fireworks together. Displaying artwork featuring a lot of red shades is equally effective, and you can even place them in a red photo frame for extra “oomph!”

From Bedroom to Boudoir 

It goes without saying that in regards to relationships, the bedroom is the most significant room in the home. Think about little things you can do to transform it into your own sensual, seductive love-shack. Invest in luxurious Egyptian cotton bedsheet (the higher the thread count, the softer the sheets), and silky throws for the bed. Pick lampshades that will soften and diffuse the light in the room, and use scented candles to ensure things always smell sweet. 

On the wall above the headboard of your bed, hang up an image of something that represents what it is you’re looking to attract in a relationship – intimacy? Romance? Red-hot sex? Have a pair of cherry red candles set out on your bedside table. In Diamond Feng Shui, cherry red is the color of passion, and setting things out in pairs is a quick and easy way to let the Universe know you’re ready to meet your other half. Set out a vase of freshly cut red roses because not only are they the ultimate symbol of love, you’re also letting the Universe know that you’re someone worthy of roses, regardless of your relationship status!
