Five Easy Ways to Go From Stressed to Blessed

In today’s modern world, it can be all too easy to get swept away in the hustle and bustle of long workdays and diaries bursting with appointments. No matter how stressful your day is though, you deserve to feel rested and relaxed inside your home.

This set of five quick and easy tips is just the thing to help you achieve this. They will teach you how to banish the stress-causing negative energy, and replace it with calming positive energy. Creating your own sacred space has never been easier!

1) Light An Aromatic Candle

Scented candles not only smell great (and are perfect for covering up those lingering dirty laundry smells!), but they can also be used to cleanse the energy of your home. Lavender, in particular, has long been used for its purifying properties. Sweet orange and lemon are amazing mood-boosters, and rosemary is perfect for calming the mind.

Begin each day by lighting your candle and give yourself a moment to just sit and reflect on all you have to be grateful for in life. Gifting yourself this moment of stillness is just the thing to help you start your day on the right foot.

2) Declutter Your Home

In Feng Shui, clutter is considered a major source of stress. Not only does it disrupt the flow of energy and cause it to stagnate, it’s just easier to feel relaxed in a clean and organized home.

Make your life a little easier by letting go of old or unwanted books, newspaper, papers, and magazines. Go through your closet and donate clothes and shoes that you no longer wear. Be critical and try to get rid of at least 10% of your clutter. If you have difficulty letting go, just remind yourself that by doing so, you’re creating space for new opportunities.

3) Decorate With Bouquets of Fresh Flowers

Bring the energy of the outdoors into your home with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Adding elements of nature, like flowers or a green, leafy plant, to a room is a wonderful way to bring in fresh, new energy.

Pick flowers in a bright, energizing color, and enjoy watching them as they bloom. Just make sure to remove them as soon as they begin to wilt, since dying or dried flowers no longer have any of that fresh energy to give to a room.

4) Open Up Your Windows and Curtains

A quick and easy way to refresh the energy in your home is to open the windows. The blast of fresh air gets the energy flowing again, and gets rid of all the stale air that’s been collecting in the rooms. Letting in light does wonders for the mood too, since the more light you see, the easier it is for your mind to stay positive. There’s a reason why they call it looking on the “bright” side, after all!

Make sure that you’re opening the curtains of your home each day, and opening all the windows at least once a week.

5) Have Some Background Music in Your Living Room

TV has its place, but gory true crime documentaries or gritty drama shows can bring the energy of a room down. Instead, switch off the TV every now and then and listen instead to relaxing background music. Explore different playlists featuring a range of classical music and chilled instrumentals to help soothe and relax. Remember though, no headphones – let everyone in the room reap the benefits of your tranquil tunes!
